Deferral Statements

I have been admitted to Mason, paid my enrollment deposit, or have been granted an eligible enrollment deposit waiver by the Office of Admissions.

I understand that, if I do not enroll for my approved deferral semester, I forfeit all deposits and will have to reapply for admission.

I understand that I am NOT allowed to take classes at any other college or university during my deferral period. If I do so, I will need to submit a new application. If I was admitted as a freshman, I will need to reapply as a transfer student for review.

I understand the Office of Admissions cannot make any changes to my tuition classification during the deferral period. Any domicile appeal requests must be processed by the Office of the Registrar.

I have officially dropped/withdrawn from all classes that I have registered for at Mason. I understand that if I do not drop/withdraw, I will be charged for those classes. I understand if I want a refund for any tuition payments, I must adhere to the deadlines set by the Office of the University Registrar for the term I applied.

I understand if I selected a housing assignment and meal plan, I must confirm with Housing and Dining that I will not be attending Mason for the semester I was originally admitted for so I am not charged.

ADVANCE Statements

I have been admitted to Mason and met all ADVANCE milestones for my ADVANCE curricular pathway.

I understand that I am NOT allowed to take classes at any other college or university during my deferral term and that if I do so, those credits will not transfer to Mason unless I withdraw from the ADVANCE program and submit a new regular transfer application.

I understand that, if I do not enroll for my approved deferral semester, I will be terminated from the ADVANCE program and will need to reapply as a regular transfer student for admission.

I verify that I have read, understand, and I am in compliance with all the previously stated requirements for a deferral request.
